Dr Sally Watson is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland, where she has held the position since April 2022. She is also a Marine Geophysicist affiliated with NIWA (now part of Earth Sciences New Zealand). Her research focuses on understanding the dynamics of offshore geological processes over a range of time-scales from the continental shelf to the deep ocean.
Watson holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Tasmania and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Sydney. In her dual role, she has contributed to studies involving high-resolution hydrographic surveys and marine geophysical investigations.
