Sallyanne Tingey is a Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery and Health Sciences at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle campus. As a Registered Nurse, she possesses a Bachelor of Science (BSc), Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing (GCCN), Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Learning and Teaching (GCHELT), Graduate Diploma in Health Professional Education (GDip HPE), and is currently a candidate for the Master of Health Professional Education at the University of Notre Dame Australia. Tingey brings over 12 years of postgraduate clinical experience specializing in emergency nursing. She has worked extensively in both metropolitan and regional emergency departments across Western Australia, fulfilling roles in direct clinical practice as well as education. Her professional journey reflects a commitment to advancing nursing education and clinical skills development in high-acuity environments.
In her academic capacity, Tingey lectures across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on delivering core content in the Bachelor of Nursing program. Her teaching portfolio includes critical care nursing, pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, and clinical reasoning courses. She also coordinates courses and develops programs for postgraduate education within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, while serving as a Short Course Facilitator. Tingey's clinical expertise centers on emergency department triage, mechanical ventilation, and advanced life support. She holds credentials as an Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support (ALS) Level 1 and Level 2 Instructor and Course Director, in addition to being an Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Instructor. These roles underscore her influence in training healthcare professionals in life-saving interventions and educational program delivery.
