Rate My Professor Satish Kumar Modh

Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar Modh serves as Vice-Chancellor of VIT Bhopal University, part of the Vellore Institute of Technology group. He previously held leadership roles including Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean at Somaiya Vidyavihar University in Mumbai, Professor and Director at Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Management in Mumbai, and Professor and Associate Dean at NMIMS University in Mumbai. His career began with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, through the Indian Engineering Services, followed by service as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at Air India, where he later advanced to Deputy General Manager and contributed to the Business Transformation Group. He has also served as Honorary Secretary and Chairman of the Aeronautical Society of India Mumbai Branch, General Secretary of the Air India Aircraft Engineers Association, and in leadership positions within the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Professor Modh holds qualifications including ME, MBA, LLB, and PhD. He has authored multiple books on disaster management such as A Citizen’s Guide to Disaster Management, Introduction to Disaster Management, Managing Natural Disasters, and Managing Technological and Environmental Disasters. Additional publications include Discover the Arjuna in You, Arjuna’s 15 Questions, The Bhagavad Gita in Simple English, Ethical Management, and Narendra Modi: The Master Problem Solver. He has contributed chapters to the Palgrave Handbook of Servant Leadership, the Palgrave Handbook of Workplace Well-Being, and New Horizons in Workplace Well-Being. His work has been recognized with the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Conference in Boston in 2019 and the Dewang Mehta Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education in 2014. Professor Modh has delivered invited lectures at universities including the University of Southern California, University of North Carolina, San Diego State University, Ohio State University, and Michigan State University. He also serves as an NBA expert and evaluator for business school accreditations across India.
