Ghauri's research specializations center on co-operatives, with a focus on values congruence and SMEs' active membership in business co-operatives, networking benefits for SME members, co-operative principles and values alignment, and agricultural co-operatives' role in managing natural capital to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals 12-15. Notable publications include 'Agricultural co-operatives for managing natural capital to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals 12-15: A conceptual framework' (2022, co-authored with Elizabeth L. (2024). He led a qualitative case study on networking benefits in Western Australian co-operatives, including CBH Group, Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative, and Capricorn Society Limited, involving interviews with nine executives/managers and 18 SME members. The study underscores how co-operatives facilitate information sharing, knowledge exchange, social capital development, and purposeful relationships through social events, while noting the importance of addressing geographic distances. Ghauri has authored seven research works accumulating 96 citations and an h-index of 2. In 2024, he was nominated as a finalist for the Most Inspirational MBA Lecturer Award.
