Sharon Mascher serves as Professor, Dean and Head of School at the University of Western Australia Law School. She concurrently holds an Adjunct Professor position at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, commencing February 2024, following her prior full-time professorship there. Mascher obtained her Bachelor of Education from McGill University, Bachelor of Laws from the University of Calgary, and Master of Laws, specializing in Environmental Law, also from the University of Calgary. Throughout her career, she has focused on advancing legal scholarship in areas intersecting environmental regulation and public policy.
Mascher's research specializations encompass climate change law, environmental law, international environmental law, natural resources law, property law, and laws affecting Indigenous peoples. She has produced 58 research outputs, including chapters, articles, and specialist publications, with her work cited 318 times according to Google Scholar.
