Sheel Gor is a registered clinical pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA), holding an MPharm Honours degree from the UCL School of Pharmacy in London. With over 12 years of service at Curtin University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, she has held leadership positions including Director for Teaching and Learning, Lecturer, and Head of Faculty. In these roles, Gor managed and coordinated focus groups in various fields of medicine, collaborating with organizations such as the Department of Health, Department of Justice and Health, Telethon Kids Institute, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led organizations. Her work emphasized recruitment and training of healthcare professionals and early career academics, contributing significantly to health sciences education.
As teaching staff for the unit PUBH2001 Epidemiology: From Principles to Practice, Sheel Gor supports public health education at Curtin University. Her research contributions include co-authorship of the peer-reviewed article “West of the wall: Reflections of lock down in delivery during COVID-19,” published in the Journal of Australian Indigenous Issues (Volume 23, Issues 3-4, pages 16-30, 2020), alongside colleagues from Curtin’s Centre for Aboriginal Studies, sharing reflections on teaching during the pandemic. She is currently co-authoring a paper under review on practices in clinical rotations for laboratory medicines. A member of the Athena Swan Charter and the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA), Gor supports gender equity and professional development in STEMM fields and is listed in Curtin University’s Panel Pledge. She also serves as a Council Member on the Planning Committee of St Stephen’s School since 2019.
