Dr. Shirlee-ann Knight is a Lecturer and Unit Coordinator in the School of Management and Marketing within Curtin University's Faculty of Business and Law. She earned her PhD in Information Systems from Edith Cowan University in 2008, with her doctoral thesis titled 'User Perceptions of Information Quality in World Wide Web Information Retrieval Behaviour.' Prior to joining Curtin University around 2014, she held a PostDoc position at Edith Cowan University's School of Computer and Security Science from May 2001 to July 2013. At Curtin, she has served for over eight years, teaching units such as Introduction to Business Information Systems, Database Design and Data Management, Designing Database Systems, and ISYS2007 Database. Her instructional focus includes database and system design, business software tools, and information systems principles.
Dr. Knight's research specializations encompass health technology and systems, particularly novel approaches to designing technologies for public health problems; information management; knowledge management and sharing; human-computer interaction; systems theory; qualitative analysis; academic writing; research methodology; and student supervision. Her Google Scholar profile highlights interests in Information Systems, Information Quality, Health-ICT, and Research Methodology. She has contributed to academic conferences, serving as a Track Chair for the 30th Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS 2019) hosted by Curtin's School of Management.
