Shubashini Krishnan serves as a lecturer in the School of Pre-University and Continuing Education (SPACE) at Curtin University Malaysia, where she teaches Engineering Mathematics in foundation programs designed to prepare students for undergraduate degrees in engineering and science fields. She has been involved in units such as FP-041 Engineering Mathematics 062 and FP-040 Engineering Mathematics 061, acting as teaching staff with office in Skylark 3, Room 428, extension 2527. Her contributions extend to unit coordination and examination scheduling for foundation mathematics courses, ensuring students build a firm mathematical foundation for advanced studies. Previously affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Humanities at Curtin University, Krishnan co-authored the 2015 publication 'Lecturers' Perception of Classroom Management: An Empirical Study of Higher Learning Institutions in Malaysia,' exploring academic staff perceptions across private and government institutions.
Krishnan actively engages in outreach and community programs to promote mathematics education. In May 2025, she guided the SuCCESS Mentors Programme workshop at SMK Baru, supporting 20 student mentors in delivering motivational talks, interactive quizzes, and small-group problem-solving on SPM-level mathematics to nurture academic resilience. In August 2024, she led over 100 foundation in engineering and science students on a site visit to the LAKU Lambir water treatment plant in two batches, providing hands-on experience alongside colleagues Bejay Ugon, Freddie Panau, Jameson Malang, and Puteri Nurul Fatihah Mohamad Azli. In October 2023, she participated in the 'Learning Algebra' event with Pustaka Miri, guiding secondary school students through problem-solving activities. She arranged a guest lecture on the importance of learning mathematics in April 2023 and facilitated 'Maths Madness' sessions during the 2018 Curtin E-FacT empowerment programme for primary school students, demonstrating technology integration like Kahoot for engaging math instruction. Additionally, she presented on 'Understanding Evaluations and Feedbacks' at the Academic Awareness Day for foundation students, clarifying assessment processes.
