Dr. Simon Minaee serves as a Lecturer in Management within the Department of Management & Marketing at Murdoch Business School, Murdoch University, located in room 512.2.013. He specializes in entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and design-led problem solving in organizational contexts. Minaee holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in leadership and small group creativity from Edith Cowan University, earned between 2009 and 2015. His academic career at Murdoch University includes teaching and coordinating key units such as International Logistics (BUS211), Real World Learning (MSP201), Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (MBS673), and Leading the Engaged Enterprise (MBS663), where he contributed to unit development starting from 2016 and 2018.
In research and supervision, Dr. Minaee has guided numerous graduate students. Notable supervisions include the PhD thesis 'The Determinants of Farmer Entrepreneurial Intention: A Case Study of Small Farms in Vietnam' by TMH Do (2022, co-supervisor with Dr. Ingrid O'Brien and Professor Domenico Gasbarro), the Honours thesis 'An Analysis of the Six Dimensions of Psychological Well-Being' by NA Bakker (2019, co-supervisor with Tara Smith), and the Masters by Research 'Exploring a Designed Liminality Framework: Learning to Create Future-Orientated Knowledge' by GM Walker (2019, co-supervisor with Megan Paull and Tracy Reibel). His publications feature the conference paper 'Shared Leadership in Filmmaking: A Collaborative Approach to Creativity,' affiliated with Murdoch University College of Business. He also authored the article 'Leadership Lessons from COVID-19' in Business News (2021). Dr. Minaee engages in public outreach through interviews on entrepreneurship, such as with Tracxn on transitioning from classroom to startup ecosystems, and presentations on integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into higher education, including 'The ESD Edge: Transforming Entrepreneurship & Innovation' at Mission 4.7 (2025) alongside Vesna Sampson. In 2020, he was recognized as Senior Lecturer in Management. Recently, in 2025, he received the College Award for Programs Enhancing Student Success for innovative curriculum work and was celebrated in the Murdoch Business School H1 Update for staff achievements.
