Dr. Simon Order serves as a Lecturer in the Office of Learning, Teaching and Technology within Murdoch University's Education Portfolio, where he functions as a Learning Advisor specializing in academic research, curriculum development, presentations, academic writing, arts and design, educational leadership, audio, sound, and film. He concurrently holds the position of Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Media and Communication, which is part of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Order obtained his PhD from Murdoch University in 2013, with the thesis titled "Community radio in Western Australia: Notions of value," supervised by Gail Phillips and Andrew Turk. He also holds an MSc.
Order's research specializations encompass radio studies, community radio, sound production, music technology, audio production, and media analyses including identity performance during COVID-19 and representations of violence in popular culture such as zombie narratives. With 19 publications and 67 citations on ResearchGate, key works include "The Altruism of Community Radio?"
