Dr. rer. nat. Simon Völker serves as Head of the Study Center Computer Science and coordinator of the Examination Committee for Computer Science at Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen. In these roles, he oversees examination matters for the computer science department and coordinates teaching activities within the faculty. He is also an Affiliated Researcher at the Media Computing Group, where he previously held the position of deputy head from 2016 to 2020. His academic background includes a Diploma in computer science awarded in 2010 and a Ph.D. awarded in 2016, both from RWTH Aachen University. Völker’s research specializes in Human-Computer Interaction, with a primary focus on mobile interactions, ubiquitous computing, personal fabrication, touch input, interactive surfaces, and tangible user interfaces.
