Dr. Siong Hui serves as an Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at Curtin Medical School within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University. He earned his MBChB from the University of Auckland and completed postgraduate training in Sydney, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). In 2015, he relocated to Perth to take up Infectious Diseases appointments at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Fremantle Hospital, where he continues as an Infectious Diseases Physician. Additionally, he provides inpatient consultations at St John of God Hospitals in Murdoch and Subiaco, as well as Hollywood Private Hospital. His clinical practice encompasses comprehensive management of adult infectious diseases.
Dr. Hui's academic and research interests focus on adult infectious diseases, particularly viral hepatitis, Helicobacter pylori infections, recurrent urinary tract infections, skin and wound infections, diabetic foot infections, osteomyelitis, fevers of unknown source, fevers in returned travellers, mycobacterial infections, and infections in immunosuppressed patients. He has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications, including 'Serological Responses to Streptococcus pyogenes Vaccine Candidate Antigens Suggests That Streptococcus dysgalactiae Is the Predominant Cause of Lower Limb Cellulitis' (2024, Open Forum Infectious Diseases), 'An atypical presentation of immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS) in a patient with cryptococcal meningitis in the setting of fingolimod therapy for multiple sclerosis' (2025, IDCases), 'Successful Liver Retransplantation in a Patient With Disseminated Histoplasmosis' (2024, Transplantation Proceedings), and contributions to 'Expert consensus recommendations for the provision of infective endocarditis services' (2025, Internal Medicine Journal). He participates in the Australasian Collaboration in Endocarditis and contributed to COVID-19 research responses. Through his roles, Dr. Hui bridges clinical practice and medical education, supervising trainees and contributing to infectious diseases management in Western Australia.
