Dr. Stéphanie Pougnet is an Assistant Professor at EHL Hospitality Business School and Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program. She holds a PhD in Management Sciences from the University of Grenoble and a BSc HES-SO in Hospitality and Restoration Professions from EHL obtained in 2000. Pougnet has practiced and taught management in Europe, America, and Asia, focusing on retailing, food and beverage, and service industries. As an entrepreneur and avid skydiver and snowboarder, she co-founded sportmania.ch, a Swiss shop selling extreme sports goods. Her professional approach integrates research, teaching, and consultancy to address human capital challenges, promoting employee engagement, retention, competency management, and value creation through innovative services that leverage staff entrepreneurship and experiences.
Her research specializations encompass talent management and human resources, organizational behavior and performance, the impact of virtual reality on staff experiences, and staff contributions to customer experience and value creation, with applications in hospitality and foodservice sustainability. She teaches Talent Management Systems in the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management at EHL Campus Lausanne, along with Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. Key publications include 'Keg wine technology as a service innovation for sustainability in the foodservice industry' (Journal of Cleaner Production, 2022, co-authored with Martin-Rios and Pasamar), 'Is there structure in the selection interview? Evidence from hotels in Switzerland' (Journal of Human Resources in Hospitality & Tourism, 2018, with Fernandez), 'Teaching HRM in contemporary hospitality management: a case study drawing on HR analytics and big data analysis' (Journal of Teaching in Travel and Tourism, 2017, with Martin-Rios and Nogareda), and 'Alternance: cultivez les talents de demain' (Revue internationale de psychosociologie et de gestion des comportements organisationnels, 2012, with Pennaforte, Thévenet, and Defélix).
