Dr. Suzanne Lindley serves as Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Professor of Biology, Biology Program Coordinator, Pre-Health Professions Advisor, and Course Coordinator at Limestone University. She holds a BS in Biology and Clinical Laboratory Sciences, an MS in Clinical Pathology, and a PhD in Experimental Pathology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Lindley has been a biology faculty member at Limestone University since 2001, teaching in the Day, Evening College Classroom, and Evening College Internet programs. As a tenured full professor, she has played a key role in the biology program and health sciences education, advising pre-health professions students and coordinating courses such as BI102 Introduction to Biology II, BI113 Human Biology without Lab, BI114 Human Biology with Lab, BI211 Human Anatomy and Physiology II, BI250 Microbiology for Nursing and Health Science, BI307 Microbiology, BI315 Principles of Biochemistry, BI406 Pathophysiology, CH303 Organic Chemistry I, and HN220 Honors Colloquium.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions to teaching, Dr. Lindley received the LC Fullerton Award for Teaching Excellence and the first SCICU Excellence in Teaching Award for Limestone University in 2006. She has obtained research grants through collaborations with Clemson University and the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (SCICU) to support undergraduate research initiatives. Dr. Lindley acts as an invited reviewer for scientific publications and textbooks. She is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology and its Southeastern Chapter, the National Wildlife Federation, and the South Carolina Wildlife Federation. Additionally, she presents regularly at scientific and educators' conferences, contributing to advancements in biology education and research. Her multifaceted roles demonstrate a sustained commitment to academic excellence, student mentorship, and professional development in the field of biology.
