Terri L. Weaver, Ph.D., serves as Professor in the Clinical Program within the Department of Psychology at Saint Louis University. She obtained her Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, along with a B.S. from the University of Florida. Her clinical training includes an internship at the Medical University of South Carolina/Charleston VAMC Consortium and a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. Throughout her career, Weaver has focused on advancing understanding of trauma and its impacts through rigorous empirical research and clinical practice.
Weaver's research specializations center on the inter-relationships between stressful life events, especially interpersonal violence, and subsequent physical and mental health outcomes. Adopting a trauma-informed perspective, she investigates posttraumatic stress disorder, body image disturbance, depression, and related comorbidities, often collaborating interdisciplinarily with healthcare professionals.
