Dr. Ute Hauck is a Senior Lecturer at Curtin Medical School within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. She concurrently holds the position of Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle. Dr. Hauck earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, Germany, and a Graduate Certificate of Health Professional Education from the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle. Her professional background includes medicine as an anaesthetist, coaching, finance, business administration, and law. As a teaching-focused clinical professional, she contributes significantly to medical education.
At Curtin University, Dr. Hauck serves as the Year 1 Clinical Skills Program Lead, designing Year 1 clinical skills tutorials to support students in developing competent clinical skills early in their medical degree. She implemented and expanded the award-winning Senior Citizen Partnership Program (SCPP), Curtin's flagship five-year longitudinal community engagement program introduced in 2017, which aids students' learning about healthy ageing and improves attitudes toward older adults. Her research interests encompass the community engagement of medical students and their experiences in such programs. Key publication: 'Medical students' experiences of the Senior Citizen Partnership Program: Evaluation of a five-year longitudinal program' (Medical Teacher, 2023). Dr. Hauck holds Professional Certified Coach (PCC) certification from the International Coach Federation, Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (FASLM), Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD), and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM).
