Vincent Chua is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the National University of Singapore. He received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Toronto in 2010. His research examines social inequalities, focusing on how social networks both reinforce and reduce disparities through mechanisms of social reproduction and social mixing. Areas of interest include social stratification, social capital, labour markets, education, gender, ethnicity, and neighbourhood life.
Chua serves as Co-Director of the Centre for Family and Population Research at NUS. He is the author of the book Social Capital in Singapore. His work contributes to understanding social network dynamics in Singapore and broader contexts of inequality and mobility.
