Rate My Professor Vivek Charu

Vivek Charu is Assistant Professor of Pathology and of Medicine (Computational Medicine) at Stanford University. He is a physician and biostatistician whose clinical expertise centers on the diagnosis of non-neoplastic kidney and liver disease, including transplantation. His research interests focus on the design of observational studies and clinical trials, the analysis of observational data, and causal inference.

Dr. Charu earned his MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2017 and his PhD in Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2017. He completed his pathology residency at Stanford University in 2020 and is board certified in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology since 2020. He holds appointments as Assistant Professor in the University Medical Line in both the Department of Pathology and the Department of Medicine (Computational Medicine) and is a member of the Maternal & Child Health Research Institute.
