Yeasun Chung is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. Coordinator in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management within Oklahoma State University's Spears School of Business. She earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, completing her doctoral dissertation on the identification of economic value drivers in 2005. Chung began her academic career at Oklahoma State University as an Assistant Professor and received promotion to Associate Professor by the OSU/A&M Regents in 2017. Chung's research specializations include strategy, the effects of corporate social responsibility on firm performance, the impact of social media on destination branding, consumer attitudes and intentions toward food trucks targeting millennials, perceived impacts of poverty alleviation tourism policies in China, and explorations of diversity, equity, and inclusion in hospitality and tourism firms through organizational justice and stakeholder theories. Her work has been cited over 1,500 times on Google Scholar. Key publications are 'The impact of social media on destination branding: Consumer-generated videos versus destination marketer-generated videos' (Journal of Vacation Marketing, 2012); 'The effects of corporate social responsibility on firm performance: A stakeholder approach' (Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, 2018); 'Consumer attitude and visit intention toward food-trucks: Targeting millennials' (Journal of Foodservice Business Research, 2018); 'Perceived impacts of the poverty alleviation tourism policy on the poor in China' (Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, 2019); and 'Exploring diversity, equity, and inclusion in hospitality and tourism firms through the organizational justice and stakeholder theories' (Tourism Management, 2023). Along with colleagues Jinyoung Im and Kevin So, she received the Richard W. Poole Research Excellence Award from the Spears School of Business. Chung teaches and supervises doctoral dissertations and master's theses in hospitality administration research.
