Dr. Ying Han Fan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance at Curtin University, part of the Curtin Business School. She earned a Bachelor of Economics (BEc) from a university in China, a Master of Commerce (MCom) from Curtin University, and a PhD from Curtin University. Ying Han joined Curtin University in 2006 as a sessional academic and became a full-time lecturer in 2009 upon completing her PhD. She currently serves on the CBS Strategic Review Board. Her academic career has focused on advancing knowledge in accounting through teaching and research.
Ying Han Fan's research interests center on accounting and auditing ethics, including ethical decision-making. Notable publications include 'The effects of AI technology, externally oriented corporate social responsibility, and internal control on accounting conservatism' (2026), 'Narcissism, Cooperative Trust in R&D Cooperation, and Risk-Taking' (2023), 'How sustainability report preparers and assurance providers frame sustainability assurance quality' (2025), 'Does M&A Financing Affect Firm Performance under Environmental Regulations? Evidence from China’s Manufacturing Industry' (2020), 'How Chinese auditors' relativistic ethical orientations influence their love of money' (2013), and 'Guanxi, a two-edged sword! How Australian accounting practitioners' Guanxi orientation influences judgments of auditor independence' (2012). She serves on the editorial advisory board of the Asian Review of Accounting. As the founding member and Chair of the Global Chinese Accounting Association (GCAA), she has fostered partnerships with Curtin University, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA); the GCAA was included in the Accounting Yearbook of China 2020. Awards include the Teaching and Learning Conference Award 2011 from the School of Accounting, Curtin University, and the Engagement Australia 2022 award for GCAA collaboration with Curtin University.
