Yizao Chen is a researcher specializing in accounting and finance, particularly the intersection of emerging technologies with corporate practices. Although primarily affiliated with the School of Accounting at Shandong University of Finance and Economics in Jinan, China, he has collaborated extensively with academics from Curtin University's School of Accounting, Economics, and Finance. His work addresses critical issues in modern business environments, focusing on how technological advancements and organizational factors influence corporate decision-making and performance.
In a recent publication in the China Accounting and Finance Review (2026), co-authored with Chengliu He, Ying Han Fan, Xinrui Yue, and Grantley Taylor, Chen explores the effects of AI technology, externally oriented corporate culture, and environmental factors on blockchain technology adoption among Chinese A-share listed firms from 2013 to 2021. Employing the Technology-Organisation-Environment (TOE) framework, the study analyzes data from 27,400 firm-year observations. The findings reveal that AI patents, competition- and creation-oriented cultures, government subsidies, and digital financial inclusion positively impact BT adoption, while high market concentration (measured by Herfindahl-Hirschman Index) impedes it. Robustness tests, heterogeneity analyses across firm types, and additional testing confirm these findings, demonstrating that BT adoption reduces earnings management practices.
Chen's other notable publications include "The Effects of Blockchain Technology Adoption on Litigation Risks," published in the Journal of Information Systems (2025), co-authored with Curtin University researchers. He also co-authored "Narcissism, Cooperative Trust in R&D Cooperation, and Risk-Taking" (2023) and "Unified Market Regulation and Corporate Regulatory Capture: Evidence from China's Law." These works highlight his contributions to corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory studies in the context of emerging technologies. His ORCID identifier is 0009-0004-2283-1179.
