Dr. Zubair Ahmed Shaikh serves as President and Professor in the Faculty of Computing, Department of Computer Science at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) in Karachi, Pakistan. He obtained his B.E. degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan, in 1989, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Polytechnic University, New York, United States. Throughout his career, Dr. Shaikh has held leadership positions in higher education, including as Director of NUCES Karachi Campus and involvement in professional engineering bodies such as the Pakistan Engineering Council, where he secured election with a substantial margin.
Dr. Shaikh's research specializations include wireless sensor networks, ontology-based semantic models for river flow and flood management, data privacy in ubiquitous computing, blockchain and IPFS integration for data reliability in sensor networks, and virtual reality exposure therapy.
