RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant professor (F / M) in a group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Telecommunications and Teleinformatics at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.
Job description:
- persons, who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consol. text, Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339) may enter the competition for the position of assistant professor (F / M) in the group of research and teaching employees;
- estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2026,
- workplace and type of contract: Department of Telecommunications and Teleinformatics at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, full-time employment contract,
- anticipated period of employment: from 01.10.2026 to 30.09.2027 (with the possibility of extension).
Requirements:
- possession of a doctoral degree in technical sciences in the discipline of technical computer science and telecommunications, or automation, electronics, electrical engineering, and space technologies, or a related field,
- completion of at least a two-month internship abroad or a six-month domestic internship in scientific research, industrial, or governmental units,
- a publication record in internationally recognized journals,
- documented achievements in the promotion and popularization of science;
- substantive participation in a project financed from sources other than subsidies;
- knowledge of Polish language, both spoken and written, sufficient to conduct educational activities,
- knowledge of English sufficient to, among other things, conduct educational activities.
Additional requirements:
- authorship or co-authorship of several publications in renowned scientific journals indexed in the WoS database,
- documented teaching achievements in Polish and/or English,
- familiarity with numerical environments and programming skills in Matlab, Python, C++,
- theoretical and practical knowledge of issues related to telecommunication systems, computer networks, and 4G/5G mobile networks,
- research experience and a publication record in topics related to telecommunications,
- willingness to conduct teaching activities in topics related to telecommunications, with a workload of at least 240 hours per academic year,
- willingness to submit a declaration to conduct scientific research in the discipline of Technical Computer Science and Telecommunications.

- information on the determined direction of her/his further activity,
- a declaration of proficiency in English,
- statement on the knowledge of Polish (for candidates for which Polish is not a native language);
- a declaration that Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of employment,
- statement of the field and discipline represented,
- declaration of consent to be included in the number of employees conducting scientific activities, the so-called N number, in at least one of the declared disciplines.
