Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Academic research, development, and education on space astronomy and astrophysics
The Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) of JAXA conducts spaceflight missions for astronomical research in space with the goals of understanding the origin of matter and spacetime in the universe, exploring the possibility of life in the universe, and elucidating the physics of extreme phenomena in the cosmos. Modern astronomy requires the realization of highly precise and ambitious observations that can only be achieved in orbit. As a national inter-university research institute, one of the key roles of ISAS is to lead and implement large-scale projects that make such cutting-edge scientific observations possible.
