General Information:

James Madison University's Facilities Management is accepting applications for a 10-month CDL driver (Institutional Chauffeur).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include performing pre and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicles are properly cleaned for trips, ensuring trips are planned for efficient routing, driving JMU students, faculty, and staff using various modes of transportation, such as buses, motor coaches, sedans, vans, and SUVs, and keeping a trip log. Trips will involve weekdays, overnights, and weekends.

Qualifications:

• Applicants must possess good driving record, a commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement to drive vehicles with 16+ passengers and a current medical examiner's certificate.
• Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule and work well with faculty and students.
• Applicants must also possess working knowledge and experience:
  • in bus/coach operations.
  • general knowledge of coach and bus components.
  • knowledge of trip routing, managing trip logs, and detailed reporting.
  • excellent customer service, planning, and communication skills.
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and schedules.
• Availability on weekdays and weekends including days, evenings, and nights.
