2026-2027 Accounting, Economics and Finance Faculty
Position Overview
The Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance at Winston-Salem State University is seeking Adjunct Faculty to provide part-time instruction in undergraduate-level courses in Accounting, Business Law, Business Communications, Economics, and Finance either in person or online classes.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Adjunct faculty will teach assigned classes, maintain office hours, grade assignments, provide feedback to students, and post grades while adhering to relevant university policies
- Suitably challenge, engage, serve, and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect
- Complete grade books, mid-term and final grade submission, learning assessments, and final exam assessments on a timely basis
- Respond to student questions on a timely basis
- Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus
Requirements and Preferences
- Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting, Business Law, Economics, or Finance
- Experience in the subject area is preferred
- Professional certification or significant current experience may be acceptable in some cases
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- The ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and diverse populations
