Faculty members will use state-of-the-art classroom teaching technologies. While this position is primarily assigned to the Fauquier Campus, faculty may be required to teach at any campus, as needed by the college. Faculty members are required to work to help further the goals of the college and programs and support policies and procedures dictated by the Virginia Community College System. The successful candidate will also be required to work on developing curriculum for new and existing programs. Candidates must have the required academic background in anatomy and physiology. Teaching experience is desired, preferably at the community college level.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for the position is $54,387 to $117,180, per year, however, actual starting salary will commensurate with education and/or experience. The position is a 9 month faculty role and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies and the Virginia Community College System. Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in anatomy and physiology, or related field with 18 graduate credits in anatomy and physiology or Master's degree with a minimum of 18 credits in anatomy and physiology or related discipline.
• Demonstrate ability to work/teach in a lab setting.
• Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with Lab safety rules.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to develop courses in the field that will expand departmental offerings and that can be taught in traditional and non-traditional formats, such as hybrid and/or distance delivery courses using various instructional media

Additional Considerations

• Doctoral degree in anatomy and physiology, or related field with 18 graduate credits in anatomy and physiology or Doctoral degree with a minimum of 18 credits in anatomy and physiology or related discipline.
• 18 graduate credits in biology, microbiology, biotechnology or related field.
• Teaching experience, preferably at the community college level.
• Experience working/teaching in a life science lab setting.
• Demonstrated ability to teach using technology in the classroom and/or online course delivery
