Abdominal Transplant Surgeon
The Division of Transplantation in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking an experienced abdominal organ transplant surgeon to serve as Surgical Director of the UW Health Kidney Transplant Program. We perform, on average, 290 kidney transplants including 90 living donor kidney transplants, and 33 pancreas transplants per year.
Candidates should have training completion from an ASTS certified abdominal organ transplant program with specified training in kidney and pancreas transplantation, and laparoscopic donor nephrectomies. The successful candidate will have experience at a large volume kidney transplant program, including deceased donor, living donor, and national paired kidney exchange transplants.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Clinical: Kidney and pancreas transplantation and living donor laparoscopic nephrectomy.
- Service and Teaching: Teach medical students, residents, and fellows; participate in administrative and committee work.
- Research: Opportunity to maintain a research program.
- Leadership: Serve as Surgical Director of the UW Health Kidney Transplant Program.
Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Medical License, Board certification or eligibility in Surgery, Completion of an ASTS approved transplant surgery fellowship, and eligibility for enrollment as a billing provider.
