Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Academic Advising department on the Gainesville campus. The University of North Georgia at the Gainesville Campus Administration building is seeking focused, dedicated students who are eligible for employment during the Fall and Spring semesters. These individuals must be flexible, dependable and able to work a set schedule between 15-20 hours a week. University College Student Assistants are responsible for providing customer service assistance to Academic Advising Center visitors as well as clerical and project support to Academic Advising staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet and/or check in students and Academic Advising Center visitors.
• Assist Academic Advising staff with special projects.
• Answer basic informational and directional questions.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills as well as effective listening skills.
• Must work well in a team environment, but also be a self-starter.
• Must possess excellent time-management skills.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
