"Academic Advisor and Workshop Coordinator for our TRIO Program"

Winona State University invites you to join our Community of Learners as an Academic Advisor and Workshop Coordinator for our TRIO Program. This is an externally funded position. The work schedule is 40 hours/week from mid-August through mid-May and 0 hours from mid-May to mid-August with the exception of one duty day (8 hours) to be scheduled in June. TRIO is a federally funded program providing support services to students who are first-generation, low income, and/or students with a disability. Duties associated with this position include (1) providing academic advising, career advising, financial advising and personal development to TRIO-eligible students; (2) coordinating workshops offered by Student Support Services (SSS); (3) serving as the liaison between SSS and WSU Access Services; (4) primary responsibility for assessment of SSS programming and for identifying opportunities for continual improvement; and (5) serving as the transition coordinator for all SSS students which may include teaching Improving Reading and Study Skills (EDUC 115) and/or Orientation (OR 100) for SSS participants. Minimum qualifications for this position include a master’s degree and two (2) years of experience in higher education.
