Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $26.78

Work Hours: Fall and Spring Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 7:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 1:00pm. Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 7:00pm, Closed Friday-Sunday. This is a part time position that would require flexibility to assist the office during the hours above.

Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work

Special Instructions to Applicant: This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 19.5 hrs. per week

Job Summary

This role is a transitional role with the expectation that new hires successfully obtain certification and move into the Career Advisor role within one year of hire. This role is responsible for supporting advising strategies for students from entry to completion by engaging with students through non-scheduled appointment times (i.e., virtual chat, walk-ins, quick-advise) while referring students who need more in-depth support to their assigned Career Advisor, as outlined in the case management model.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements include providing general advising, overview of degree plans, proactive communication, interpreting student data, records management, transcript evaluation, collaboration on professional development, early alert support, graduation initiatives, liaison services, and special projects.

Service Excellence and Supervision details also specified.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three (3) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
  • Within one (1) year of hire, obtain specified certification to transition into Career Advisor role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Degree in higher education, advising, counseling, social work, or related area
  • Experience in advising and new student programs
  • Bilingual in Spanish
