Position Introduction:
This position serves as a central point of support for Honors College students, guiding them from enrollment through graduation. The role focuses heavily on academic advising, including conducting individualized advising appointments, answering daily student inquiries, and helping students stay on track with Honors requirements. The advisor also develops and leads workshops on topics such as Honors Research, collaborates with campus advising units, and proactively reaches out to students regarding academic progress and graduation goals. Maintaining accurate advising records and ensuring clear, consistent communication with students, faculty, and campus partners are essential components of the role.
In addition to advising, this position plays a key role in administrative and operational functions within the Honors College. Responsibilities include managing Honors forms and enrollment processes, coordinating graduation clearance and designation verification, and serving as a primary contact for Honors Thesis inquiries. The role also supports student success initiatives such as monitoring progress for specialized programs, facilitating orientations, and participating in recruitment events. Acting as a liaison with admissions and other university offices, this position contributes to policy implementation, student engagement, and the overall success and growth of the Honors College.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.

- Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases.
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
- Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy, data integrity, and confidentiality.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to respond sensitively and effectively in challenging situations.
