The University of Maryland School of Medicine is currently seeking qualified applicants and candidate nominations for the role of Section Chief, Trauma & Emergency Radiology.

Reporting to the Chairman of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, the incoming Section Chief will be a respected physician with a distinguished record of clinical care, teaching and research. The ideal candidate will possess an M.D. or equivalent, be board-certified in diagnostic radiology, have completed a formal fellowship in Emergency Radiology or equivalent training with sufficient experience in Emergency Radiology at a Level 1 trauma facility.

The Section’s interpretations of all aspects of emergency diagnostic examinations and inpatient acute-care coverage, include 24/7/365 on-site diagnostic imaging coverage for the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, a worldwide leader in trauma care and the heart of Maryland’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The Section has a long history of academic strength and active collaborations with Emergency Medicine and Trauma Surgery. Section members regularly publish book chapters and peer-reviewed research, lecture at national society meetings and participate in the training of residents and fellows in diagnostic radiology, trauma surgery, emergency medicine and critical care medicine.
