Details
The Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Academic Pediatric (Medical) Neuropsychologist to join our growing faculty of clinician-educators and researchers. We are a division of generalists, developmental-behavioral specialists, and quality improvement experts who work collaboratively to provide clinical care, educate future health care providers, conduct research, and engage in advocacy in settings where children with special health care needs receive high value, comprehensive team-based care that is flexible and responsive to new health care delivery models.
The Neuropsychologist will provide consultation, intakes, evaluations, assessment, and treatment through direct patient care to children referred to the University Developmental Assessment Clinics (UDAC). UDAC evaluates children with developmental disabilities or children with developmental concerns. The Neuropsychologist may work in all clinical programs at UDAC including the Child Development Clinic (CDP), Neonatal Follow-up Program (NFP) and the Heart Center Neurodevelopmental Program (HCNP). This position will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including developmental pediatricians and nurse practitioners, speech language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, registered nurses, and other psychologists to provide assessments and diagnosis to children who have or are at high risk for developmental complications. Clinics are held in Salt Lake and Utah Counties. In addition to clinical service, there is an expectation for academic work including teaching, research, administration, and advocacy.
Qualified candidates must hold a Doctoral level degree in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology with specialization in Neuropsychology from an accredited program, and have completed 1 year of post-licensure experience. Must be eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Utah. Experience in teaching and quality improvement projects is preferred. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Department/University offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package including a variety of medical and dental plans from which to choose, paid time off, and non-contributory retirement contributions equal to 20.2% of annual earnings. The Department offers a faculty development and mentoring program designed to foster success in translational or basic research, quality improvement engagement, and excellence as educators.
