Position Summary

The Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, is seeking a fellowship-trained, Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Pediatric Sleep Medicine physician to join our growing multidisciplinary Pediatric Sleep Medicine Program. Specialty training or interest in pediatric pulmonary medicine is encouraged but not required. Successful candidate will serve as an Attending in our Pediatric Sleep Disorders Center, with opportunities to participate in teaching, clinical quality initiatives, and patient-oriented research.

Candidates with dual expertise or interest in both Sleep Medicine and Pulmonology will have opportunities to practice in both areas: pediatric outpatient clinics, PFTs, overlap cases for candidates with interest/training, while applicants wishing to focus solely on Sleep Medicine are equally welcome. Duties include:

  • BE/BC in Sleep Medicine (Pediatrics preferred) to provide care for the full spectrum of pediatric sleep disorders including OSA, restless legs syndrome, insomnia, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, narcolepsy, and complex sleep-related breathing conditions among others.
  • Interpret pediatric sleep studies (PSG, MSLT, MWT) and manage PAP and related therapies.
  • Clinical or translational research with mentorship and support.

The Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences provides comprehensive care for infants and children with a wide range of respiratory and sleep conditions. The Division includes five physicians, three nurse practitioners, three research coordinators, four respiratory therapists, a dietitian, and a social worker. Facilities feature state-of-the-art bronchoscopy, pediatric pulmonary function, and exercise testing labs, as well as an AASM-accredited pediatric sleep laboratory with four dedicated beds.

Academic Environment

Faculty actively share in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and benefit from robust opportunities in clinical practice, education, and scholarship, with collaborations across pediatrics, critical care, ENT, neurology, and behavioral health. The successful candidate will have an academic appointment with the University commensurate to rank and experience.
