Academic Specialist in Mathematics
The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for an Academic Specialist (Academic Support Staff) position in the field of Mathematics, with an Associate or Assistant rank, depending on experience and qualifications. Excellence in undergraduate education is a hallmark of NYUAD's mission. Consequently, candidates are expected to be academic contributors and mentors who can effectively support the learning of undergraduate students. An ideal applicant would have some teaching or teacher assistance experience and be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, in English.
The Academic Specialist will support NYUAD's educational mission by assisting in the delivery of undergraduate courses. This includes leading recitation sections, running review sessions, grading, and contributing to course coordination and student support efforts. A demonstrable ability to think creatively about teaching and to work as an effective member of a teaching team is required. Academic Specialists will undergo training prior to the start of each academic year, and appointments will be for up to three years, with the opportunity to renew. The position offers opportunities for professional growth.
This position requires a Master's or PhD degree in pure or applied Mathematics.
