Academic Tenure Track Position in Advanced Cardiac Imaging Cardiologist
The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology in partnership with Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health, invites applications for an Academic Tenure Track Position in Advanced Cardiac Imaging Cardiologist to be based at the University of Alberta Hospital and Mazankowski Heart Institute. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world's top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada's premier health-education institutions.
This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA). The successful candidate will be offered a contingent tenured or tenure-track appointment in the Department of Medicine, with the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Remuneration for this position is based on the Academic Medicine & Health Services Program (AMHSP). Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.
The successful recruit will join a group of 38 cardiologists including three advanced imaging cardiologists and several cardiac radiologists.
Responsibilities
Key accountabilities of the position will include but will not be limited to: Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT interpretation and supervision, General Cardiology Inpatient service, Emergency Room Cardiology Triage, Outpatient Cardiology Clinics, and equitable share of Division of Cardiology undergraduate and postgraduate teaching responsibilities. The successful candidate will be expected to have a presence in investigator-initiated and collaborative research.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be an MD (or equivalent). They will be eligible for certification in Cardiology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. Furthermore, they will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and have Specialty Fellowship training in advanced imaging modalities (cardiac MRI and CT).
