HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
- You’ll be joining the Services for Students with Disabilities team; a department centered on promoting students' academic success, personal growth, and life skill development by ensuring that students with disabilities receive equal access to Virginia Tech programs, activities, and services.
- You’ll be reporting to the assistant director of access and accommodations, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
- You’ll be responsible for providing direct services to students and families seeking disability accommodations using an interactive process that identifies reasonable accommodations as well as auxiliary aids and services.
- You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
- You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $50,000 - $52,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent amount of experience working in disability services in higher education.
- Experience communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working in the field of disability services, rehabilitation services, social work, higher education, etc.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple requests and competing deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing individual and/or small group instruction to students.
- Demonstrated ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with students individually or as a group to learn new skills.
- Experience translating legal requirements into actionable steps for both experts and non-experts.
