  • Based at our St Lucia campus.

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Administration Officer for a senior administrative role supporting the access and inclusion team. This position is central to ensuring the effective and equitable delivery of services and programs for students with disabilities. You will manage high-level administrative, financial, and staffing processes, and liaise with key stakeholders to promote accessibility and student success across the University.

Key responsibilities will include:

Service Coordination and Implementation

  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality administrative support for the access and inclusion team. This includes liaising with student advisers to ensure the timely implementation of reasonable adjustments and assisting with the delivery of support services, such as transcription, remote captioning, and interpreting services.

Equipment and Technology Management

  • Manage all aspects of disability-related loan equipment, including maintaining accurate inventory, distributing equipment, providing student training, and coordinating servicing. You will also support the operations of assistive technology rooms, act as the first point of contact, and recommend new software or equipment.

Financial and Reporting Administration

  • Provide comprehensive support for financial processes, including analysing financial reports, managing general office purchases, and supporting administrative tasks related to financial hardship funds. A key duty is compiling the annual DSF application.

Liaison and Team Support

  • Act as a central point of contact by monitoring and actioning team inboxes, and responding to inquiries from students and academic staff. You will also support casual staff coordination, including recruitment processes, onboarding, and reviewing timesheets.

About You

Essential

  • Degree and/or qualifications with proven administrative experience in a complex environment, including strong organisational skills to prioritise competing deadlines. This must include sound financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial reports, process payments, and identify discrepancies.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating casual staff, encompassing delegation, onboarding, training, and timesheet/contract administration. You must also be able to work independently and proactively solve problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the proven ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, academic staff, and external service providers.
  • High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and experience with student or customer management systems and databases. A strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with an understanding of the needs of students with disabilities in a higher education context, is essential.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a university or education setting, particularly in a student support or access and inclusion role. Familiarity with the administration of government funding programs such as the DSF is also highly valued.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and disability-related equipment, including hands-on experience with setup, maintenance, training, and coordinating related programs (e.g., peer notetaking or participation assistants).

You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
