Job Summary
The Accountant I has responsibilities that include but are not limited to, performing complex budget and accounting work. This position has considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. This is a full-time position that reports to LSCPA's Finance Department.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform daily budget entries as advised by the Executive Director
- Maintain position control for budget in Banner
- Update Salary Planner for budget changes as advised by the Executive Director
- Perform daily accounting tasks related to budget included EPAFs, activating positions in Banner, and assisting the ED with campus customers with budget requests
- Assist in the yearly budget process under the leadership of the Executive Director
- Assist in the bi-ennial Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR) process under the leadership of the Executive Director
- Record journal entries as needed
- Reconcile quarterly USAS with the Legislative Budget Board's (LBB) Accounting System (ABEST)
- Reconcile state cost centers and perform other reconciliations as needed
- Data entry of State entries into USAS (Uniform Statewide Accounting System)
- Reconcile local bank accounts and perform other reconciliations as needed
- Comply with campus policies and procedures
- Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Two (2) to four (4) years' experience on jobs leading this, or similar jobs

Physical Requirements:
This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
