Accounts Assistant - Helpdesk (Fixed Term)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Finance Division Helpdesk team as an Accounts Assistant - Helpdesk.

The Helpdesk team provides specialist first-line support for various aspects of the Cambridge University Financial System (CUFS), including areas such as: User Administration, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, iProcurement and Expenses, advising departments on best practice as well as being a point of contact for suppliers and customers of the University, ensuring calls and enquiries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.

The Role

Reporting to the Accounting Services Team Leader, in addition to providing first-line support in the areas above you will also assist the Accounts Receivable, Payable and Cash Management teams in various areas including:

  • eInvoicing
  • Liaising with departments regarding allocation of payments to the University
  • Preparation, verification, and reconciliation of International Payments
  • Any other administrative and reconciliation assistance as required in these areas

Your Skills

You will possess the following:

  • Strong abilities within processing accounting transactions
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner
  • Intermediate knowledge of excel and working knowledge of Oracle Financials
  • Experience of dealing with complex reconciliations
  • Strengths of time management and attention to detail

Location

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.
