Job Summary
This role is accountable for validating analyst outputs, directing work priorities, and ensuring the effectiveness of controls, reporting, and process improvements across the Accounts Payable function. This senior position leads Accounts Payable analytics and benchmarking efforts, including development and analysis of key performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting to support leadership decision-making and period-end close activities. The position analyzes invoice exceptions, spend patterns, and vendor payment activity to identify trends, anomalies, and discount opportunities, and proactively resolves payment issues impacting invoice settlement. Responsibilities include leading quality assurance and compliance activities through routine invoice audits, duplicate payment reviews, and preparation of monthly reports for management. The position also leads process improvement initiatives and special projects, partnering with AP Operations, Information Technology, and other enterprise stakeholders to optimize invoice workflows, automation, and controls, and supports implementation of new processes, systems, and strategic initiatives as assigned by leadership. The Accounts Payable Financial Analyst Senior provides day-to-day functional leadership and work direction to AP Financial Analysts, including prioritization, problem-solving guidance, and knowledge sharing. Reviews analyst outputs and provide feedback to improve accuracy, consistency, and analytical quality. Serves as a resource for complex questions and promote standardization of processes and best practices. Reinforces accountability and ownership within the analyst team through ongoing guidance and support.
