Waubonsee Community College’s Business, Technology, and Workforce Education Division is currently seeking an adjunct instructor for Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity to teach one or more of the following classes:
- Sugar Grove Campus: CIS 130: Comp Science I: C++ Programming
6:00-9:30PM, Wednesdays, 8/17-12/12/2026 - Downtown Aurora Campus: CIS 150: Comp Science I: Java Programming
11:00am-2:30PM, Wednesdays, 8/17-12/12/2026 - Plano Campus: CIS 122: Network Essentials
8:00am-11:30am, Monday, 8/17-12/12/2026 - Hybrid, Sugar Grove Campus: CIS 110: Business Information Essentials
6:30-7:45pm, Thursday, 8/17-12/12/2026
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4000 hours of work-related experience in the field.
Preferred Experience
- Teaching Cybersecurity, or a related field, at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.
- Teaching traditionally underserved populations.
- Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into the teaching and learning process.
- Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
- Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification.
