Overview:
Salem State University is seeking adjunct professors with interest and experience teaching 100-level Mathematics Department courses, including: Math for the Liberal Arts (MAT 103); Math or Health Care Students (MAT 107); Business Math (MAT 128); Statistics (MAT 147) and possibly others.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assume full responsibility for teaching department mathematics courses:
- Select appropriate curriculum aligned with department course goals.
- Plan and implement course materials during in-person class meetings.
- Assess student learning outcomes and submit grades according to established deadlines.
- Maintain reasonable open lines of communication with students.
- Hold office hours.
- Report difficulties with students, facilities, technology or other teaching-related challenges to the department chair as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
- Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and collegiality
- Demonstrated commitment to student success
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching the specific courses listed above
- Experience teaching a diverse student population
Working Location:
This is an onsite position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
