Adjunct Faculty – English

Position Summary

Southwest Baptist University seeks qualified applicants to teach seated undergraduate English courses on a semester-by-semester basis. Instructional needs currently exist on both the Bolivar and Mountain View campuses.

Adjunct faculty at Southwest Baptist University are expected to integrate Christian faith with academic instruction and actively support the mission of the institution through teaching, service, and engagement with students.

Essential Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty are expected to:

• Teach assigned courses, up to a maximum of 9 credit hours per semester
• Maintain compliance with university policies and faculty expectations
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities
• Participate in program assessment efforts through data collection
• Foster a positive and effective learning environment for students
• Model and support a Christian lifestyle consistent with the University’s Principles and Expectations

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in English OR
• Master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate-level focus or demonstrated expertise in writing
• Doctoral degree in English
