Other courses may be developed to fit the successful candidate's expertise and program demand as approved by the Dean of Nursing.
In addition, the successful candidate will
- Provide instruction in the Nursing Assistant program following the requirements of Article 8 of the Arizona Nurse Practice Act.
- Deliver instruction that is learner-centered and promotes participation in the learning process, emphasizing pathophysiology and critical thinking concepts.
- Demonstrate knowledge and clinical competence in acute care hospital and community-based healthcare settings. Work collaboratively with students and facility staff to optimize clinical experiences.
- Work with advisory committees to identify and meet the needs of the community about nursing subject matter and courses.
- Administer and monitor exams; evaluate student progress; collect and maintain records of student classroom and clinical experiences.
- Act as a liaison with healthcare organizations/providers.
- Follow the requirements within the Arizona State Board of Nursing Advisory Opinion regarding the Role of the Clinical Instructor in Pre-Licensure RN and LPN Programs.
- Assist in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of standards for the admission, progression, and graduation of students (AZBN).
- Communicate with the Dean of Nursing and colleagues regarding student issues and progression in the program.
- Initiate and maintain active participation in professional development opportunities that encompass the discipline of Nursing and teaching effectiveness.
- Together with the Nursing Assistant Training Coordinator, review policies and procedures that ensure student and patient safety.
- Under the leadership of the Dean of Nursing, provide direction and coordination of the Nursing Program, following the requirements of the Arizona State Bord of Nursing.
- Supervise and evaluate the program, ensure adjunct instructors meet regulatory qualifications, and ensure written policies meet AZBN and accreditation
- Probationary faculty are required to complete the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) training within the probationary period and are strongly encouraged to complete it in their first year. ISW is a required part of a new faculty member's probationary training and probationary faculty are not eligible to receive additional compensation for completing the training.

Minimum QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university.
- Current unencumbered Arizona RN license.
- Three years of experience as a RN.
- DPS Level I fingerprint clearance and valid AZ driver's license.
- Current CPR certification and TB screening.
Supplemental InformationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited college/university.
- Demonstrated proficiency in college-level teaching for the equivalency of two (2) years full-time.
- Approval to teach nursing assistants as granted by AzBN.
