Job Description
The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Old Dominion University invites applicants for part-time Adjunct instructional positions. Adjunct instructional faculty mostly teach 200-level sections of in-person Introduction to Sociology and Introduction to Criminology courses, with an opportunity to teach upper-level electives in Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Cybercriminology, depending on department needs and applicant qualifications. We tend to have the greatest need for instructors who can teach between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications
M.S, M.A, or Ph.D. in Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology or closely related fields with a minimum of 18 hours graduate credit hours in Sociology.
Criminal Justice or Criminology. JD is required for those teaching law-related classes.
Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Availability to teach in-person on Old Dominon University’s Norfolk, VA campus between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 pm.
