Adjunct Faculty, MFA Illustration Practice (MFA Studio)
The faculty position will teach 6 credits of MFA Studio, a core requirement of the MFA in Illustration Practice program. The candidate will work in tandem with the full-time faculty of record in the MFA Studio course, and will report to the Program Director.
Requirements:
- MFA degree in illustration or closely related field
- An active professional practice
- College-level teaching experience (beyond graduate assistantships)
- Ability to work in tandem, collaboratively, among colleagues
- Experience critiquing beginning and advanced students
- Ability to work on partner projects outside the classroom
- Ability to translate workshop activities into content for student projects
- Demonstrated expertise in traditional and digital techniques
Valued, but not required:
- Experience working with students that have degrees other than illustration
- Experience critiquing students working in a variety of mediums
- Broad understanding of new approaches to illustration as a practice
Conditions of Employment: Satisfactory Background Check. Additional Information: Salary commensurate with experience and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The part-time faculty are represented by the SEIU Local 500.
