As the finance profession continues to evolve with advances in
artificial intelligence and data analytics, we are especially
interested in instructors who can thoughtfully incorporate AI tools
and AI-related skills into their teaching where appropriate.
Examples include using AI to support financial analysis, data
visualization, programming, forecasting, risk analysis, investment
research, and decision-making, while also helping students
understand the opportunities and limitations of these
technologies.
The expected salary range for this position is: $8,755 - $9,270 per
course.
The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins
University's good faith belief at the time of posting. The actual
compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will be
based on factors including, but not limited to, the experience and
qualifications of the selected candidate – e.g., years in rank,
training, field, discipline, other work experience, and other
similar factors; geographic location; internal equity; external
market conditions; and other factors as reasonably determined by
the University.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or a closely related
field.
- At least one year of graduate-level teaching experience
(in-person, online, or hybrid).
- At least one year of relevant professional experience in
economics, finance, banking, investments, risk management, or a
related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Several years of graduate-level teaching experience.
- Significant industry experience in finance or economics.
- Experience integrating AI tools, data analytics, programming,
or other emerging technologies into finance or economics
instruction.
- Experience designing applied learning activities that connect
theory with current industry practice.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas,
laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving
community contact requires documentation of immune status against
Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella
(chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the
Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include
documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella
vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory
testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are
ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for
those candidates who provide results of blood tests or immunization
