University Background: Cal Lutheran is a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and McNair Institution, seeking candidates committed to diversity and inclusion.

Basic Function: The School for Professional and Continuing Studies (SPCS) seeks part-time, non-instructional adjunct faculty to develop courses for fully online programs in the Bachelor's Degree for Professionals.

Subject Matter Experts needed in areas such as: Accounting and Financial Analysis, Business Management, Criminology and Justice Studies, Micro/Macro Economics, Organizational Leadership, Psychological and Behavioral Science, Strategic Communication, and general education subjects.

  • Based on an approved syllabus, develop a course that meets SPCS objectives.
  • Use technologies and materials provided by California Lutheran University.
  • Develop content within Canvas LMS and approved templates.
  • Work with SPCS representatives to ensure course appropriateness.
  • Create content with an instructional designer and handle edits post-review.
  • Deliver a combination of synchronous and asynchronous content for a 3-credit hour class.
  • Ensure complete course materials are available in Canvas LMS.
  • Provide resources to meet accreditation standards and course objectives.
  • Provide supplemental resources for self-study.
  • Maintain accurate records.

Knowledge Of: Subject matter, instructional design, pedagogical methods, educational technology, current theory, online teaching best practices, accessibility standards, multimedia elements, and assessment techniques.

Ability To: Plan and deliver online courses, demonstrate knowledge in the field, integrate technologies, communicate effectively, and collaborate with teams.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree from a recognized institution or equivalent experience. Cannot hire from certain states or unauthorized individuals.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with online course development.

Physical Abilities and Working Environment: Manual dexterity, speaking, sitting/standing, remote work.

Hiring Range: $34.00 - $36.00/hour
